Serving God and Others

This page is dedicated to those who have a heart shaped for service! If any of the ministries or anyone in the congregation has a particular need, they can post their need by clicking here! Check this page periodically to see if there is any item posted by a specific ministry to which you can feel comfortable volunteering to step forward and serve in.

Preschool Transition Program Jack and Jennifer Davis coordinate our participation in this program designed to help those families that are in transition and have pre-school children. We provide clothing and infant equipment to those in need. We also gather school materials and clothing for those in need. Alaska Military Youth Academy The Alaska Military Youth Academy is always in need of mentors and tutors and other helpers. We have had members act in these and other capacities over the years and encourage continued participation in this outreach for each class that comes through. We will be trying to set up a regular Bible Study with the Academy for their incoming class. If you are interested, please contact Mark Henry. Food Bank We had a dozen people come out to help the food bank clean their pantry area and re-stock their shelves a few weeks ago… The next Saturday work day will be announced in our weekly email. Come out to be part of this service to our community. Anchorage Thanksgiving Blessing We will again participate in this faith based initiative for the city of Anchorage this Thanksgiving. We will be collecting 700 cans of green beans as part of this project and helping to set up and staff the distribution center on November 18 and 19. Singing at Providence Extended Care The 2^nd Friday of each month we go to Providence Extended Care to sing with the residents for an hour. In November we will go from 7-8:00 pm on Friday, November 9. Plan to come out and be part of this sharing with these special folks.
